What can i do to take this further?

i was out for a mates birthday ans at the end of the night on our way to get a taxi three guys pushed one of my mates into a corner and when i tryed to stop them beaten him up and one of the guys strangled me, the police are now involved and he is being charged the guy who strangled me plays for under 21s chelsea football team what can i do to take this further?
